1979 Ford Bronco Ranger XLT. The burly 2nd generation Ford Bronco was one of the most popular Bronco's in their 30-year production run. And I have owned this one for 25 years. Great truck never let me down. In the past five years I have steadily been going through the truck. The factory 400 6.6 has been rebuilt by Terry Walters here in Roanoke. Bored over .30 thousand, paired with a larger cam, Edelbrock intake and street demon carb, she runs smooth and sounds great. Upon the motor rebuild a new clutch pressure plate, throw out bearing, motor mounts, fuel, water pumps, power steering and alternator, were all installed.
As you may have already guessed it, she has a 4 speed manual. Now I have been told many times that this is rare to have the 400 and the 4 speed. Not many manuals and most were matched up with the 351. This is a great factory set up, gear to gear and with the NP205 transfer case, this is very solid drive train. Dana up front and a 9 inch in the rear, you can go anywhere.
The brakes have been converted over from vacuum to hydraulic boost, off the power steering pump for more stopping power. Newer rubber brake lines, and proportion value. The front axle has new u-joints and warn hubs. 5 newer BFG mud tires 35 x 12.50’s, all new shocks including 2 for steering dampers, with a 4 inch lift. Interior is all original, low back bucket seats, center console, which are hard to find now. Floor boards are all solid and bed lined from firewall to tailgate, then a rubber mat instead of carpeting has been installed for easy clean out. All the door and windows gaskets have been replaced. Including the powered tailgate.
This Bronco is complete, all the chrome and badging are here, even the impossible to find factory spare tire carrier plus the original factory jack under the hood. I have plenty of good spare parts that go with the sale. For example, rear replacement panels for over the wheel wells, replacement windshield with gasket and chrome trim, spindles, hubs, front axle shafts, under the hood electronics and much more. This Bronco is 41 years old and has some surface rust here and there, but solid where it counts. Great reliable truck and ready for the next adventure. I’m asking 25,000 for this classic, and with all spare parts is a good deal, considering these are fetching upwards of 65000 depending on condition.
